Qualification Requirements

Students must complete a CCSD School Choice Application by the designated application deadline. All qualified applicants are placed in a random, computerized lottery for available magnet seats.

Elementary and Middle School

Entry to an elementary or middle school magnet program is interest-based. It is important to explore and research schools carefully and attend one or more community events to receive the best information about each program.

High School

Entry into a high school magnet program is criteria-based, interest-based, or audition-based. Students applying to a criteria-based program must meet eligibility requirements to be considered in the lottery. Students applying to a performing or visual arts program must audition and meet eligibility requirements to be considered in the lottery.

Students with Disabilities

It is the policy of the Clark County School District to afford equal opportunity in education to qualified students. Admission criteria will not be waived, but accommodations will be made where possible to allow the student to meet the program requirements.

Current CCSD Students
Information regarding the student’s current disability and/or accommodation will be accessed through Infinite Campus.

Non-CCSD Students
Parents/guardians are encouraged to voluntarily provide information about their child’s disability and related needs with the application.

Criteria-Based Program Requirements

Using first semester or trimester grades, each subject grade is converted into a point value (A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0). The total earned points are then calculated out of a maximum possible score of 26. To qualify for the criteria-based program lottery, a student must achieve a minimum score of 16 points.
